Taster Courses
The Taster Courses are on-campus opportunities for students in Year 12 to experience a day at the RVC. These taster courses are facilitated by the University of London.
University of London Taster Courses are an exclusive opportunity for Year 12 students to sample what studying at the RVC can be like. Students have the opportunity to sample a range of university teaching; course specific lectures, small group teaching, practical hands-on teaching, tour the Campus, get a feel for day-to-day life from Student Ambassadors and receive advice on the application process; all of which provides an immersive experience to help students decide whether this is a degree that they’d like to study at university. The RVC currently offers two Taster Courses:
Veterinary Nursing Taster Course

This one-day introduction to Veterinary Nursing takes place at the RVC’s 575 acre Hertfordshire Campus and offers aspiring veterinary nurses in Year 12 with the opportunity to experience what it’s like to study veterinary nursing at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ. Current Veterinary Nursing students will guide and facilitate Taster Course students throughout the day; providing the unique opportunity where guests can immerse themselves to learn about the student experience. Amongst other things, the day will provide insightful lectures and practical teaching delivered by RVC experts, a tour of the Hawkshead Campus including our Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (Europe’s largest referral veterinary hospital), as well as advice and guidance on the application process. In order to apply for this programme, you must be on-track to meet the course-specific entry requirements.

Biological Sciences Taster Course

This one-day introduction to Biological Sciences takes place at the RVC’s London Campus and is designed to provide Year 12 students with the opportunity to experience life as a Biological Sciences student at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ. Current Biological Sciences students will guide and facilitate Taster Course students throughout the day; providing the unique opportunity where guests can immerse themselves to learn about the student experience. Amongst other things, the day will provide insightful lectures and practical teaching in one of our Laboratories, all delivered by RVC experts, a tour of the Camden Campus, as well as advice and guidance on the application process. In order to apply for this programme, you must be on-track to meet the course-specific entry requirements.
